Der Song kam 1982/83 raus. Das war vor dem ‚Pepsi-Unfall‘; der daraus resultierenden Sucht nach Schmerzmitteln und Schönheitsoperationen, den Skandalen und den ganzen anderen negativen Aspekten seines Lebens.

Ich finde es schwierig einen einzelnen Song von einer fragwürdigen Biografie zu separieren, nur weil dieser aus chronologischen Gründen nichts mit jenen Ereignissen zu tun hat. Persönlich habe ich kein Problem damit z.B. MJ, Brand New oder sogar Lostprophets zu hören, ich würde bestimmten KünstlerInnen aber keine öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit schenken wollen, wie hier in Form einer "Ehrung" oder Wertschätzung.
Wundert mich ein bisschen, da hier doch sonst sehr sensibel damit umgegangen wird.

Wir sind hier ja aber bisher immer die Schiene gefahren, dass wir Künstler*innen nicht "canceln", solange ihr musikalisches Werk nicht eindeutiges Medium für problematische Inhalte ist (wie bei Frei Wild und den Onkelz, Burzum und im weitesten Sinne Morrissey)
Ich persönlich finde es zwar auch nicht unproblematisch, Werk und Künstler*in einfach zu trennen, finde aber, dass das auf den jeweiligen Kontext ankommt. Den Popkulturellen Askpekt von MJ kann man sicher nicht ohne seinen Missbrauch thematisieren, einen Song bei einem Songcontest kann man aber imho mit guten Gründen trennen.

Wow damit hätte ich echt nicht gerechnet. Der Song ist für mich halt der perfekte Song zum Motto gewesen, kann aber die Kritik schon verstehen.

Nach dem "Song des Jahres" leite ich dann gerne die dann folgende Runde.

Ich kann die Kritik auch nachvollziehen, aber finde den Song auch sehr zum Motto passend. Als das Video raus kam er das auch was ganz Neues. Kann mich noch dran erinnern.
