Oha, da bin ich ja fast neidisch . Zusammen mit Days to Come von 2006 wirklich das beste von Ihm mMn. Gerade letzteres ist auch noch viel näher am Hip Hop als die jetzigen Sachen. Und Black Sands ist in seiner homogenen Gesamtheit einfach ungeschlagen und die drei Features mit Andreya Triana: Eins schöner als das andere.
Bin mal gespannt, wie es dir gefällt. Viel Spaß

Toydrum - My Eye on You (To Reinvision)

Toydrum are a duo who sneak into the consciousness. Not for them the full frontal assault but, instead, a drip-feed of classy work that many may know without knowing. Their hugely acclaimed work with the late singer-songwriter Gavin Clark lit up Shane Meadows’ ‘This Is England ‘90’, their rework of John Lennon’s ‘How Do You Sleep’ led Noel Gallagher to have them remix his High Flying Birds hit ‘In The Heat of the Moment’ (which, in turn, soundtracked last year’s epic ad for the latest ‘Assassin’s Creed’ game), and their soundtracks for films such as the recent Tye Sheridan-starring thriller ‘Detour’ and Alice Lowe’s 2016 Venice Film Festival opener, ‘Prevenge’, have broadened their appeal further. Toydrum’s signing to Skint Records is now announced and celebrated by ‘My Eye on You (To Reinvision)’, a collective interpretation of their work thus far, running the gamut from Nick Cave’s balladry to Trentemøller’s drum & bass-tinted electronica.

Can You Deal? The Zine. I create music and art because I need to. To express, to bond, to reconcile, and to connect. And to use my voice. To have it received with such a generic labeling as "girl band" and consistently referenced as "female fronted" is insulting and reductive. The title track to this EP, “Can You Deal?” is about this experience and you can hear it today. Last year we released a deeply personal full length album titled Welcome The Worms. It was a record about being in an emotionally abusive relationship. It was a record about getting spun out on drugs and alcohol. It was a record about totally losing myself in order to find myself. It was also our most ambitious body of work yet, with guitar work and guitar sounds and production we had only dreamed of until then. And yet to this day I am still fielding interview questions that have more to do with my gender than with the art I am creating. Somehow the conversation usually derails into some variation of the following question: "What is it like to be a girl in a rock band?". And the ensuing story will define us based on our sex. Why is gender pointed out in nearly all coverage of our band? Labeling me as a woman in a band just puts me in a box, and doesn’t allow everything else I am to be seen and heard. It's 2017, Can You Deal with women playing rock and roll yet? I am publishing a zine also titled Can You Deal? that is a collection of shared experiences as told through essays, stories, poetry, visual art, and more. The net proceeds from the zine will benefit Planned Parenthood. Dunkler Noise/Dream-Pop Mix aus Wien mit Drone und Avantgarde Einflüssen. Mit so einer schönen Bedroom Production ala Year of Hibernation
Wer grundlegenden Gefallen an Xiu Xiu, Jenny Hval usw. findet sollte mal reinhören. Klingt manchmal auch wie eine düstere Version von Memoryhouse.

Ja, Ähnlichkeit ist definitiv vorhanden. Klingt ganz gut.
