Genau, es stand wohl "Emma Stone (La La Land)" auf der Karte.
Habe es nicht gesehen, nur die Gewinnerliste jetzt. Ich hätte ja fast mit noch mehr "La La Land" gerechnet, aber war ja zu erwarten, dass der abräumt. Ein Oscar für "Arrival" ist mir zu wenig, beste Regie hätte ich dem gegönnt.

Bzgl Casey Affleck gibt es ja durchaus den einen oder anderen Kritiker. Jetzt nicht wegen seiner Leistung, die ich auch absolut beachtlich finde und für die er die Auszeichnung verdient hat. Aber da gab es 2010 angeblich zwei Fälle von sexual assault gegenüber Frauen. Hat sich dann privat geklärt und Anzeige wurde zurückgenommen. In dubio pro reo gilt dabei selbstverständlich und ich habe da jetzt auch kein Detailwissen - jmd anders vielleicht? In meiner Twitter-Timeline gab es da schon die eine oder andere negative Reaktion.
Ansonsten war ich natürlch #teamviggo, auch wenn er realistisch betrachtet keine Chance gegen die anderen hatte - auch bzgl. Lobby und so. Dass seine Leistung trotzdem in einer Form anerkannt wurde, finde ich super.

Mit den Nominierten konnte ich dieses Jahr echt gut leben (bis auf das völlig unverständliche Fehlen von Blade Runner 2049 bei bester Film und beste Regie und schätzungsweise Florida Project bei Bester Film).
Aber dann haben sie es doch geschaftt, für meine Begriffe, in vielen Kategorien daneben zu greifen. "Shape of Water" in den Topkategorien als Bester Film und beste Regie kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen, gerade wegen des starken Teilnehmerfeldes. Da hätte ich "Three Billboards" (oder "Lady Bird", unter Vorbehalt, bis man den hier sehen kann) gesehen und bei bester Regie ganz klar Nolan, für den Film spezielll und weil es überfällig ist.
Dass Dunkirk für den besten Soundmix gewinnt, ist völlig klar, aber Sound Editing muss einfach an Baby Driver gehen, so konsequent etwas Neuartiges in dem Bereich hat es noch nicht gegeben.
Blade Runner bekommt immerhin den verdienten Oscar für Cinematographie, aber das Produktionsdesign fand ich noch beeindruckender (und tausendmal mehr als Shape of Water, auch wenn der visuell ganz schön ist). Dafür gewinnt Blade Runner bei visuellen Effekten, wo jetzt tatsächlich die komplette "Planet der Affen"-Trilogie leer ausgegangen ist, obwohl die das komplette CGI-Game auf ein neues Level gebracht hat.
Dazu finde ich das Skript die mit Abstand schwächste Komponente an "Call Me By Your Name". Sehr hölzerne und flache Dialoge, wenig ausgearbeitete Charaktere und minimalste Handlung, da hätte es jeder andere Nominierte mehr verdient. Mich hätte es für "The Disaster Artist" gefreut.

Film und Regie verstehe ich auch absolut nicht. Bin beim Rest allerdings bei Weitem nicht so bewandert wie du.
Dazu etwas zu den Hauptdarstellern. Habe mal einen Beitrag gelesen, in dem etwas salopp behauptet wurde:

Passt hier auch in gewisser Weise, wobei ich beide auch durchaus für verdient halte.

Wir hatten in meinem Englisch-Konversationskurs an der VHS letzte Woche die Plots der Oscarfilme besprochen und ich dachte bei dem Plot von 'Shape Of The Water' nur: Was für ein Mist!
Da war mir aber noch nicht bewusst, dass der von 'del Toro' ist.
Hab für heute Abend ne Karte und mal schauen, ob er mir gefällt.
