The amount of love this band has received since our inception is astonishing to us. We've played the smallest basements to very large stages all across the world. We extend our sincerest gratitude to anyone who's chose to support us over the years because without you, we wouldn't have been able to cover as much ground as we did. To the bands, the promoters, and most importantly, the kids, we thank you. It brings us great sadness to say that we are unsure of our future as a band. Right now, the time just isn't right. Whether we play again is uncertain and it hurts to say that, but sometimes the truth hurts. It's been a wild decade people. Hope to see you around.

Dass das nicht vorher passiert ist, hat mich eigentlich stark gewundert. Nachdem der Sänger beim TIH dabei zugesehen oder mitgewirkt hat (so ganz ist das irgendwie nie rausgekommen glaube ich), wie eine andere Person ins Koma geprügelt wurde, ist die Band eh für die meisten Leuten gestorben. Ist gut, dass es vorbei ist.
Schade um die Musk. 2015 in Lüttich auf dem Boot war eine der wütendsten Shows, die ich je gesehen habe.

To our fans, our friends, our family. This is by far the hardest decision we have had to make, but We Are The Ocean is coming to the end. This is a message to say thank you for exceeding all our expectations, and clarifying that music is one of the most powerful and incredible things in this world. It's taken us to places we had only dreamed of and given us the opportunity to meet some incredibly inspiring and hard-working people along the way.

Starting out as local friends whose only realistic aspiration was to play the Walthamstow Standard, things picked up... and little did we know the journey we would embark on; performing hundreds of shows, travelling thousands of miles, standing before tens of thousands of beautiful faces. Seeing people who turned up early for shows, those who were buying our music, wearing t-shirts, even getting tattoos! This is something we will all remember and hold dear for the rest of our lives. For the past ten years, we have lived a glorious fantasy. But like all fantasies, it ran the risk of being infected by reality.

And the reality is, a life in music requires sacrifice, and more so every year. As opportunities deteriorate and competition rises, there are more and more sacrifices artists have to make in pursuit of a dream. And much as these sacrifices were ones we were more than willing to make, after time they began to distort the heart and soul of the music we were creating. As painful a decision as it was to make, we feel it is more important preserve the happiness it brought us from the beginning, than taint it with an unforgiving and unpredictable future. Our hearts still stay firmly in the music we've written over the years, but it's time for another journey to begin.

As those who have seen us live will know, we never turn down the opportunity for an encore. So in true We Are The Ocean fashion we will be playing a handful of shows over the coming months, as one last chance to celebrate the past, the present and the future. If you wanna hear songs from Cutting Our Teeth, Go Now And Live, Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow, Ark and the Self-Titled EP (yep, your favourite MySpace profile songs) then join us for what will be an unforgettable evening.

It is with sadness we write this but honestly, we're excited for the future and there's still so much we have left to give. These shows will be for you who made it all possible, the fans. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you, thank you and stay posted for more announcements.

Leider haben wir zu Beginn des neuen Jahres keine guten Nachrichten für euch.
Aus persönlichen Gründen innerhalb der Band haben wir uns dazu entschlossen, das Kapitel ZODIAC zu beenden.
Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich für den Support bei EUCH bedanken. Wir hatten viele unvergessliche Konzerte und haben in den letzten 5 Jahren eine Menge coole Leute kennengelernt, die uns sehr unterstützt haben.
Uns fällt es wirklich schwer diesen Schritt zu gehen, aber wir werden in anderer Konstellation weiterhin musikalisch aktiv bleiben.
Also freuen wir uns, den Einen oder Anderen von euch irgendwann mal wieder zu treffen und halten euch auf dem Laufenden. - ZODIAC

Die haben doch 2012 beim Hurricane den Red Bull Tourbus gehostet und auf dem Campingplatz gespielt. Als Special Guest hatten sie Cro dabei, auf den die ganzen Kiddies gewartet haben. Sie selbst wurden ausgebuht, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere.

It is with heavy boots that we bring you some important news.
After ten years of navigating in the shadows of the music industry, we have decided to discontinue project Uniform Motion.

Uniform motion describes an object that is moving in a specific direction at a constant speed, and that's what we've been doing for the past decade. It's been pretty much non-stop composing, drawing, recording, coding, mixing, mastering, distributing, promoting, social networking, crowdfunding, rehearsing, booking, touring, and so on...

It's been a very interesting ride and a lot of fun driving along the backroads of the music business, meeting some amazing people on the way, in places like France, Spain, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands; communicating via the internet with some wonderful folk from all the over the world. We've recorded and released 5 proper studio albums, 1 covers album, and a live album. We’ve played over 130 shows and documented a lot of our humble experiments along the way.

If you’re reading this message, chances are you probably supported us in some way during our adventures. We are infinitely grateful for the support we have received over the years. Some of you bought every record we made. Some of you commented on our silly posts on Facebook. Others sent us pictures, or sound samples that we could use in our videos or songs. A few people helped us organise shows or helped us fine-tune our songs before releasing them. Lots of you spread the word and told your friends or family about us. Some of you wrote to us to let us know that our work had touched you in some way. Thank you! You’re all amazing and we would love to be able to keep this up for another 10 years but it’s important to know when to quit something you love. And now seems like the right time.
