Aftershock 2021

Wer soll denn wissen, was in 8 Monaten ist?

On 15 April we announced with a heavy heart that the 25th edition of GMM was postponed until 2021 but not to worry! Our painstaking efforts to make the four-day XL edition one for the history books did not go to waste. From 17- 20 June 2021 we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of our festival with a vengeance!
Despite having to work in often difficult circumstances the GMM team hasn’t been twiddling its thumbs in recent months. The goal was to roll over the entire line-up of the 25th XL edition to next year and barring a few exceptions we managed to do just that. We also have the bands to thank for this because they’re obviously straining at the leash for some live action.
Previously AEROSMITH were reconfirmed as our headliner for Sunday. The band fronted by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry can’t wait to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their inception with the fans and they plan to see GMM2021 out with a bang.
We have a new headliner for Thursday: Danish rock rebels VOLBEAT have always delivered a flawless performance in the past and they’ll settle for nothing less this time around.
We’ll get back to you with our main stage 1 headliner for Friday but what we can confirm is that we are welcoming back FAITH NO MORE to headline main stage 2.
There are no changes on Saturday and meanwhile both JUDAS PRIEST and KORN have confirmed their appearance.
New names
To put the icing on the cake for our postponed anniversary edition we’ve added a bumper crop of new bands to the line-up and some of those names are finger-licking good. On Thursday 17 June BARONESS, BLACK STAR RIDERS, DROPKICK MURPHYS, GOJIRA, VOLBEAT, WARDRUNA and WHILE SHE SLEEPS are joining the party.
On Friday we’re unleashing AMENRA, JINJER, STICK TO YOUR GUNS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and TWIN TEMPLE.
On Saturday JOYOUS WOLF, KONTRUST, LEVARA and SAXON will pull out all the stops.
And we’re also adding fresh blood to our Sunday roster with CROSSFAITH, DIAMANTE and ENTHRONED.
